The PhiDE International Convention will support attendees in executing their medically related goals through educational programming and networking learning experiences that are both passive and active for all membership categories within our Fraternity.

Thank you for everyone who helped to make our International Convention at Disneyland in California such a huge success!

Disneyland was home to our 2010 International convention and despite the 22 inches of snow and canceled flights, almost all of our attendees were able to arrive to Anaheim. Thursday’s reception introduced many of our early birds to Mickey Mouse. Friday and Saturday’s educational programs brought outstanding speakers from the North-American Interfraternity Conference, Yes Institute, Kaplan, Brooks Brothers, the PhiDE Foundation and Western University.

Chapter and Colony delegates visited Give Children Hope, a green organization, taking supplies and equipment that would often end up in the land-fill and redeeming it for use in domestic free-clinics and developing countries around the world. Our students shifted through supplies, categorized them and packed them for shipment to Haiti. We successfully unloaded 26 boxes within three hours (the weekly total is usually five boxes.)

Saturday night’s Reception and Banquet featured a special guest from Children’s Hospital Orange County (CHOC) Miracle Child Olivia, and her family. Dr. Nick Anas, Hospital Director spoke about the technique used to save Olivia when she was diagnosed of heart failure as a newborn. PhiDE collected over 200 lbs of coloring books and supplies to donate to the CHOC Child Life department and Breanna Weeks, CHOC CMN Program Director accepted these on the hospital’s behalf.

We had up to 18 individuals and chapters apply for each award and we are proud to announce the 2010 award winners:
